Full-time/Monday thru Friday 8:00am-4:00pm & occasional weekends and evenings.

Position Description

**Impacts and Results**

Passengers are transported calmly, safely and on time to their destinations.

Deliveries are made safely and on time to their destinations.

Passengers are given assistance when necessary.

**Summary of Key Roles and Responsibilities**

**1. Must have clean driving abstract and class 4 license. (deal breakers)**

**2. **Provide safe, professional, calm, and welcoming and bus transportation and door to door assistance for clients for the St. Albert Seniors Association, as well as S.A.S.A. programs and activities **(70 %)**

**3. **Ensure passengers safety and well-being while on the bus. Provide delivery of meals, supplies, and necessities for seniors as assigned by the Event/Kitchen Manager, and the Systems Navigator (Social Worker) **(10%)**

**4. **Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or the Events/Kitchen Coordinator **(10%)**

**5. **Provide safe, calm and professional transportation for S.A.S.A excursions and programs, with supervision of excursion events required. **(10%)**

**Major functions** with estimated percentage/range of time spent on each function

**1. **Provide welcoming, calm, and safe bus transportation for St. Albert Senior Association programs, events and activities. **(70%)**
- Welcome and assist customers on to the bus, including but not limited to using the wheelchair lift when necessary or requested by passenger.
- Transport clients as per the My Senior Centre Rides list/calendar.
- Maintain communication with Front Desk on scheduling
- No scheduling of rides done by anyone but the Front Desk or Program Coordinator
- Never give out personal phone number to clients as all ride bookings must go through the payment systems at the front as all ticket sales must go through bookings.
- No cash payments on the bus will be accepted
- Maintain communication with the Executive Director, Front Desk and/or the Kitchen/Events Manager, depending on the circumstances.
- Maintain a clean bus/wash as needed, including daily interior cleaning of the bus, and weekly shampooing of the seats on Fridays. The garage must be kept clean and tidy, with the floor being swept each Friday.
- Fuel the bus and return all receipts to the Financial Assistant, along with the keys at the end of the day as all keys must be locked in the safe overnight.
- Ensure all documents, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher in the bus are kept up to date
- Ensure passengers’ safety and well-being while on the bus. Provide delivery of meals, supplies, and necessities for seniors as assigned by the Executive Director, Event/Kitchen Manager, and the Systems Navigator (Social Worker)
- Perform Daily Pre-Trip Inspection
- Complete and files with Front Desk Driver Hours Log daily and file in Financial Assistant’s office in binder.
- Complete Driver’s Chart daily and file in Financial Assistant’s office in binder.
- Follow all traffic laws and see disciplinary actions for repeated offenses at the end of this job description.
- Immediately report any accidents or tickets to the Executive Director.
- Fill out any accident or incident report as requested by the Executive Director.
- Follow all Alberta Transportation regulations as per the S.A.S.A. Safety and Maintenance manual
- Must keep the GPS tracker and dash and rear cameras functional at all times.
- All dints, missing taillights, bus damage or garage damage due to accidents in or just outside the garage that result in damage to the interior or exterior of the garage must be reported immediately.
- Every gas receipt will have the odometer reading written on it legibly immediately after you pump gas and before you drive away. Please write your name on the back of the receipt. You must not write it down after you have driven the bus post gas fill up. We need to track milage and gas consumption per kilometer. This is absolutely required.

**2. **Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or the Events/Kitchen Manager **(10 %)**
- Occasional weekend & evening bus excursions
- Staff meeting every Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 pm to 4:45pm - attendance is mandatory.
- Take the bus to scheduled maintenance and inspections, including but not limited to tires, oils, brakes and other maintenance and all inspections.
- Participate in safety and maintenance training/education, as requested by the Executive Director

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Knowledge**
- Completion of High School or GED
- A minimum of a current Class 3 Drivers License
- First Aid and CPR training
- Experience with older adults in a client services capacity is desirable and an understanding of the ageing process is required.

**Experience**
- A minimum of five years safe driving record is required as per the Driver’s Abstract.

- Must be safety conscious, safe and have the ability to deal with
