Technician, Life and Health Insurance

As a life and health insurance technician, you provide technical support to help develop life and health insurance processes and programs, prepare insurance contracts and documents, administer reinsurance agreements and settle contested medical matters. You serve as technical collaborator and provide discipline-specific support for your unit’s activities, initiatives and processes. The ability to tailor your approach as needed is therefore essential. You research and analyze processes, information management and data processing. You draw on your sound decision-making skills to solve technical problems and help develop and improve methods and procedures. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Prepare standard group contracts, booklets and riders. Provide technical support for projects and operational issues by liaising with the legal team about issues and questions. Communicate with all group insurance operations sectors- Conduct technical studies, research and analysis and serve as resource person for the submission of solutions and action plans- Help develop and update contract wording, manuals, proposals and other materials that describe benefits- Help practitioners follow your unit’s processes and use its business solutions, tools and systems.

What you bring to the table- College diploma in a related field- A minimum of two years of relevant experience- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered- Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec- Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
