Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated waste and recycling collections company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region.

**Overview of who we are looking for**: Under the direction of the Fleet Coordinator and Shop Manager, the applied position is primarily responsible for purchasing shop materials, and availability of items. In addition he/she is responsible for inventory control and data entry.

**Responsibilities**:
Purchasing:

- Create Purchase Orders in conjunction with Accounts Payable;
- Under supervision of Fleet Coordinator and Shop Manager, research and locate needed parts, obtaining price and availability from vendors;
- Place orders and provide PO Number, once approved by Fleet Coordinator & Shop Manager;
- Perform pick ups and deliveries, as required;
- Return any unused parts for credit;
- On receipt of materials and invoice ensure the cost on packing slip matches PO.

Inventory Control:

- Maintain shop stock on hand;
- Organize parts room as required;
- Perform data entry of items/part numbers into TRUX program;
- Perform bi-weekly physical count of all shop supplies, fluids, materials;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows Operating system is an asset.

Misc:

- Assist in transporting trucks to body shops/outside service shops;
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with WHIMIS and any other areas of Safety, as required;
- Other duties as assigned by Fleet Coordinator and/or Operations Manager.

Safety:

- Performing your job in accordance with HSE philosophy, standards, programs, rules and permits;
- Working responsibly and taking any necessary precautions to protect yourself, as well as others in the work area, from injury and health hazards;
- Actively participating in all safety programs;
- Promptly correcting unsafe acts and/or conditions.

**Job Requirements**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong computer skills;
- Must have valid class 5 driver’s license and suitable abstract;
- Must be able to lift over 25 lbs;
- Must be physically fit;
- It is necessary to be prepared for exposure to noise such as is common in trucking and shop environments;
- Must be willing to sitting at a desk and/or driving for extended periods of time.
