**Position Overview**

The Medical Legal Assistant plays a vital role in supporting medical experts by managing intake information, performing preliminary reviews of medical records, editing and formatting assessment reports, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. This position requires strong problem-solving abilities, reading comprehension and analysis, writing, and communication skills to facilitate accurate and timely report preparation during the medical-legal assessment process.

**Primary Responsibilities**

1. Report Preparation: Review and edit reports for grammar, formatting, and clarity. Ensure compliance with legal, medical, and organizational requirements in all reports.

2. Medical Review: Conduct thorough preliminary reviews of medical files to assist practitioners in evaluations.

3. Intake Process Management: Manage intake procedures, including collecting and verifying necessary data. Ensure intake documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with standards.

4. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the team to provide updates on report statuses and timelines and proactively seek support or share workload concerns when needed to ensure smooth operations.

**Qualifications**

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a medical, legal, or healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to conduct preliminary reviews of medical records is required.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

**Skills**:

- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to process complex information.
- Strong problem-solving, reading comprehension, analysis, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to manage sensitive information with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

Working Conditions

This role may require occasional overtime or flexible hours to meet project deadlines. The position is primarily remote, with the possibility of onsite work based on organizational needs.
