**Job Overview**:
Provide prompt and courteous food and beverage service to guests during banquet and catering functions, ensuring guest satisfaction.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Serve menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner according to the banquet event order; time the service of courses to match the guests’ dining pace.

- Perform pre
- and post-shift side work, including setup and preparation of condiments and equipment.

- Clear tables after service; remove trays of dishes, silverware, and glassware to the kitchen for cleaning.

- Respond to guest inquiries and special requests promptly and professionally; notify a supervisor of guest complaints or unusual situations.

- Clear rooms at the end of banquets, return all props and centerpieces to storage, and properly store reusable goods.

- Assist with setup and breakdown of function spaces, and plating of meals as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned, following all company and Marriott brand standards.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Basic reading and writing skills required.

- Food service experience with general knowledge of banquet operations preferred.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Handle, carry, or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds (tables, chairs, trays, etc.).

- Remain stationary for extended periods.

- Move about function areas.

- Bend, stoop, and kneel as required.

**Other Requirements**:

- Strong communication skills when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.

- Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food handler card as required by local regulations.

- Reading and writing abilities used for orders and paperwork.

- Basic math skills used frequently.

- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
