Key Accountabilities:
Receives training in the various phases of office, plant, field engineering work as classroom instruction or on-the-job assignments.
Tasks assigned include: preparation of simple plans, designs, calculations, costs and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings or other specifications.
May carry out routine technical surveys or inspections and prepare technical reports.
Develops solutions to routine problems. Works on smaller tasks or parts of projects.
Work must be supervised by a Professional Engineer
Decisions required are routine with ample precedent.
Procedures and work requirements are clearly defined. Immediate supervision and mentoring is provided.
Work is reviewed for accuracy and adequacy and conformance with prescribed procedures.
May assign and check work of technicians or helpers.
Minimum Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent with little or no practical experience.
Generally has coop work term experience
Develops technical writing and presentation skills
Demonstrates strong ability to learn
Working towards P. Eng. Designation
