Aluminum Arm Sub Leader

**Position Codes included**: Assembly, Housing, Studs, Clutch Piston, Camshaft, Crown Gear and Aluminum Arm **Job Summary**: The Production Sub-Leader assists the Team Leader in performing daily duties on their assigned shift ensuring that Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets are met by the production associates in the designated department. Enforces policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. **Reports to**: Team Leader, Production Manager **Qualifications**: - Good attendance and quality record. - Min. 6 months of Musashi production experience or previous related experience. - Capable of being signed off on production lines in the department. - Ability to perform data input within SAP, Pro-Link Systems and Microsoft Excel. - Technical ability and knowledge. Encourages safe work habits among associates. - Actively involved in company and department goals. - Follow Musashi’s “5S” principles, quality, environmental, and health & safety systems. - Interact with all Musashi working peers in a respectful and pleasant manner. **Responsibilities**: - Supervise associates of its assigned department and shift and is responsible for performance management. - Assist the Team leader and associates to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed to ensure that Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery targets are being met. - Machine set up, trouble shooting, tool changes, and changeovers. Performs minor machine repair; enter work order for items requirements by maintenance and preventative maintenance technicians - Covers and fills in for Team leader and Production Associates in the event of absence. - Follows and enforces company policies in the associate handbook. - Communicates accidents, non-conforming parts, machine problems, quality concerns and associate needs to leadership. - Complete and submit end of shift reports in the absence of Team Leader. **Personal Skills**: - Exceptional people skills and interpersonal communication skills. - Self-motivated and well organized. - Able to multitask. - Communication skills. - Problem solving. - Works well alone or as a team. - Flexible with good time management. Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The associate frequently works near moving mechanical equipment and chemicals. The production floor is not air conditioned - the associate will be exposed to varying temperatures. The associate will frequently be exposed to loud noise levels. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
