Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada:
**Duties**:
- Provides technical support coordination and day to day planning of field and laboratory scientific projects within hydrology.
- Applies new and existing analytical methodologies, as well as assists in developing, evaluating, optimizing, and recommending methodologies for research activities in hydrology.
- Acquires and maintains comprehensive records of samples, observations, measurements, tests conducted, and processes followed, writes standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performs internal audits.
- Operates, verifies,calibrates, and maintains scientific equipment and identifies, records, and resolves associated problems.
**Intent of the process**:

EDUCATION
- Graduation with a degree or a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field such as agricultural or environmental science, geology, engineering technology, engineering or another science field relevant to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in operating field instrumentation used in the sampling of surface water, groundwater, or soil water, such as but not limited to automatic water samplers, flow meters, multiparameter water quality probes, pressure transducers, portable submersible pumps, piezometers, or lysimeters.
- Experience in operating basic laboratory equipment for the analysis of water samples, such as but not limited to, pH meters or KCl extraction systems.
- Experience in collecting water samples used in hydrology research.
ASSET EDUCATION
- Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in agricultural or environmental science, civil engineering, geological engineering, environmental engineering or another science field relevant to hydrology research.
Degree equivalency
ASSET EXPERIENCE
- Experience in hydrology research in an agriculture environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting field monitoring devices used in water quality research, such as automatic water samplers, multiparameter water quality probes, soil moisture and temperature sensors, or data loggers.
- Experience in using Geographic Information Systems.
