Construction Labourer

Telecon is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our growing Civil Team This is a field position/on the road.
Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Labourer will assist the Civil Team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire, or ducts) for various projects.
**YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:

- Able to diagnose and locate cable faults and replace or repair Telecommunications cables
- Digging holes and trenches
- Able to frequently use tools such as shovels
- Able to complete landscaping restoration work
- Aid with general site preparation and clean-up as directed
- Safely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
- Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e., saws, drills, jumping jacks)
- Assist with the removal of debris from work sites
- Assist with traffic control as directed
- Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazards
- Ability to solve problems and perform well under pressure and time constraints
- Other duties as required

**THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES**:

- Construction or landscaping industry experience - buried utilities
- Civil, Electric/Electronics or any other related fields
- Must have a valid “G” Driver’s License or equivalent and a good driver’s abstract
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year long
- Must be able to work on some Weekends and Overtime when required
- Good verbal command of the English Language and great communication skills
- Must be able to safely lift 80 lbs
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Well-groomed and maintain continued professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must maintain prompt and consistent attendance to include arrival times for work on job assignments.
- Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfaction
