Flynn Canada is looking for an experienced Foreman - Fabrication to join their Glazing team working out of their Mississauga Manufacturing Facility. Reporting to the Production Manager - Glazing, the Foreman - Fabrication will oversee day to day operations for our glazing division - helping Flynn to produce high quality and innovative panel systems for our award-winning projects.
- A Day in the Life
- Required to develop new and maintain existing programs and tooling requirements to meet defined objectives.
- Consistently and efficiently produce error free machined parts by implementing in-machine part probing.
- Complete in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment.
- Select tooling, feed rates, cutting speeds and fixturing for effective production of quality parts. Solve problems and work with Quality Control to ensure that tolerances comply with drawings.
- Work with Engineering and fellow machinists to eliminate repeated rejections and improve productivity.
- Train operators to ensure they understand and carry out the required jobs successfully.
- Be accountable to Management and provide accurate machining estimates when required.
- Create and set up tooling sheets per CNC Programming requirements.
- Requisition special tools required to complete jobs.
- Test program accuracy to identify faults. Make program corrections as required.
- Follow Flynn Canada Ltd. established safety practices and regulation.
- Work with in-house design engineers to develop, create, and manage accurate CNC programs for project parts using engineer drawings
- Participates in the design and development of custom jigs and fixtures.
- Organize and maintain set-up sheets, CAD/CAM files, and other related documents.
- Maintain or exceed production standards through efficient organization, planning, and programming.
- Troubleshoot CNC-related problems.
- Conduct T.1 Meetings.
- Attend and participate in T.2 Meetings; participate in department audits.
- Responsible for execution of Assembly and Back-pan processes.
- Ensure accurate job allocations for all employees; continually follow up with employees.
- Conduct performance management and/or disciplinary action for employees.
- What We Are Seeking
- High School Diploma and 5 years of related experience in manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in glazing preferred.
- Experience leading and managing teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Architectural Drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Previous experience with CNC programming and AutoCAD an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to work with others collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
