Tired of working the line during endless stressful dinner rushes? Choices Market’s Production Kitchen and Bakery in Burnaby is a different experience entirely. We prepare the food available in the delis and bakeries at our stores and others. We are looking for people with relevant cooking experience, a passion for food, critical understanding of the importance of food safety, capable of working both independently and as a member of a team.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Preparing and cooking soups, sauces and chili;
- Preparing and cooking proteins, starches, and side dishes;
- Preparing various salads, sandwiches and meals to go;
- Packaging foods for dispatching to stores;
- Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen;
- Organizing storage of food ingredients and disposables;
- Ensuring safety protocols are taken and quality standards are met; and
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficiency with cooking equipment and utensils;
- Eager and willing to learn;
- Passionate about food;
- Understanding of sanitary practices and protocols;
- Strong organizational skills around food storage, preparation and disposables;
- FoodSafe certification; and
- This role is primarily for afternoon shifts; however, some flexibility is required to accommodate occassional shift schedule change but not nights unless that appeals.

Pay: $19.25 per hour
