Your Opportunity:
This opportunity for a Dietitian I is to join the Pediatric Nutrition Counselling Service in Calgary Zone. This is a hybrid service, offering both in person and virtual outpatient appointments. Service locations include East Calgary & Northwest Calgary Community Health Centers. The Pediatric Nutrition Counselling Service provides comprehensive, collaborative nutrition care for pediatric patients and their families with a wide variety of nutrition problems. Collaborative relationships with other health care professionals as needed in the community or at acute care sites is a key element to this position. The dietitian will play an active role in the education of dietetic interns and medical colleagues to ensure the delivery of consistent, accurate, evidence-based nutrition information. Responsibilities will also include triage for the service and co-facilitating virtual nutrition education classes. The role may include participation on zone and/or provincial NS committees and/or research projects as required to meet Provincial NS Child Health Strategy & Standards targets. Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

**Required Qualifications**:
Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Three or more years’ experience in clinical pediatric nutrition care. Has a comprehensive knowledge base in infant and childhood nutrition and developmental eating & feeding skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience working in a community or outpatient setting with medically complex pediatric patients. Demonstrated skillset in providing care for patients with complex allergies, disordered eating, feeding difficulties, and/or growth concerns. Acquired knowledge of behavior change counselling and demonstrated effective translation of knowledge into practice. Demonstrated digital literacy skills particularly with Microsoft 365.
