We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group. **Purpose** The Assistant Manager is responsible for helping to drive an efficient and effective Regulatory Reporting & Control function within Global Wholesale Operations. The incumbent helps support projects/initiatives to promote operational effectiveness in GWO’s business strategies and objectives. Additionally, the Assistant Manager works strategically and leverages cross-functional relationships to support the GWO mandate. **Accountabilities** - Ensures BNS counterparties are in compliance with governing regulations and business requirements in all areas Scotiabank operates - Works closely with Internal Control, Regulatory Onboarding Control and GWO, Client Onboarding and Static Data teams as well as other stakeholder areas to understand key business, AML and Regulatory objectives. Identifies key data analytics to provide insight and transparency and enable decision making for improved business performance - Codifies best practices and identifies opportunities to enhance processes to drive effective and efficient reporting implementation. Develops appropriate tools and where appropriate, engages with technology to champion metric and reporting related automation - Performs ad-hoc, special, and/or focused data analytics as necessary to support the overall GWO Regulatory Reporting - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions - Continuously reviews current processes and identifies opportunities for improvements to promote efficient and effective oversight - Investigates and understands regulatory reporting requirements and ensures all business processes are built to ensure compliance with the reporting obligations in all regions the bank operates - Creates and maintains policies and procedures documents - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy of, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct **Requirements**: - This position covers GBM globally. This requires an understanding of AML and Counterparty Data metrics under the requirements of multiple regulatory regimes, including Canada, U.S., Singapore, Hong Kong, UK, as well as Enterprise and GBM wide policy and processes - The incumbent will be required to work with stakeholders from all levels and business lines. Communication and making linkages across multiple areas will be critical to the success of the Counterparty Data monitoring function. - A strong understanding of operational processes and technology will contribute to the success of the program. Continuous improvement of the reporting process as well as driving metrics based insight and changes will be required. - The position may involve multiple deliveries with intense timelines as well as regular problem solving with high ambiguity and complexity.
