The newly established pan-Canadian Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Collaboration Centre has been created to support development, implementation and evaluation of IYS practices, services, and research across Canada. There are emerging or established IYS networks in every province and territory in Canada, with close connections to the ACCESS Open Minds Indigenous Youth Mental Health and Wellness Network. IYS networks deliver mental health, substance use health, primary care, education, employment, housing and other health, social and community services to youth aged 12 to 25 years. The IYS model is also characterized by its commitments to equity, engagement, measurement and continuous learning. IYS youth hubs are in more than 100 communities across Canada and in Ontario, are operated by Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario.
The pan-Canadian Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre (IYS-CC) hosted by CAMH is recruiting a CH & E Specialist (Equity Integration Specialist). This position will report to the IYS-CC Program Manager. The Equity Integration Specialist will play a key role in supporting deliverables of the IYS-CC to support IYS networks throughout Canada to partner effectively with diverse youth and service providers who serve youth facing marginalization (e.g., Black and other racialized youth, 2SLGBTQ+ youth, youth with disabilities, youth experiencing poverty) in IYS implementation, measurement, research, and data utilization. The Equity Integration Specialist will work closely with the Indigenous Partnership Specialist, as well as a diverse team of collaboration and implementation specialists, and IYS leaders, including youth, service providers, researchers, health equity specialists, and other partners and advisors.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging and fostering collaborative relationships with partners to develop a shared understanding and vision;
- Providing expertise and advice related to principles and practices of decolonization, anti-oppression and anti-racist;
- Providing expertise and advice related to decolonizing practices, equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression to strengthen internal IYS-CC practices, as well as outward facing activities;
- Developing an understanding of local communities, cultures, perspectives and health services in order to provide contextualized supports;
- Developing an understanding of the local mental health and substance use systems in order to provide contextualized supports;
- Understanding and reviewing trends and monitoring and evaluation data to identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen implementation activities and equitable outcomes;
- Assisting partners (internal and external) with building equity expertise through facilitation, coaching, problem solving, focused capacity building, consensus building, decision making and conflict resolution;
- Developing support processes, resources and tools based on Equity and Implementation science knowledge and practices, and other evidence informed implementation approaches; and
- Building and supporting the capacity of organizations/agency to support sustainable and effective change.

**Job Requirements**
- Expertise in health or mental health program planning and implementation with a variety of organizations/agencies, with experience in the Indigenous health and/or mental health and/or substance use sector.
- Thorough understanding of principles and practices of Indigenous engagement is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, inclusivity, respect and social justice.
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with diverse partners of diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to collaborative partnerships and experience facilitating or contributing to program planning.
- Demonstrated ability to coach partners and colleagues using strength-based problem solving, active listening, motivational interviewing, modeling and other coaching strategies.
