Retail Sales Associate

**Position: Experience Enhancer - Retail**

Starting Wage: $19-$21/hr depending on experience + task proficiency raises thereafter

Hours: Tues - Fri 9:30am - 5:00pm and Sat 9:30am - 4:00pm

**Us**:
We are a rapidly growing custom screen printing + embroidery shop featuring a retail section that is home to our clothing brand (designed + produced by us) and other great Canadian born brands + products.

**The Role**:
Enhance our customers in shop experience by upholding our commitment to exceptional customer service and hospitality while creating memorable interactions whenever we can. The position will start as part-time for the training period (TBD by progress, should be a few weeks) and more hours will be added. We are open to exploring a part-time position (3-4 days per week) for the right individual however Fridays and Saturdays must be included in the schedule.

Role will include (not an exhaustive list):

- Becoming a product (retail) guru
- Developing a solid understanding of our retail sales software (Shopify)
- Adherence to in-house processes
- Inventory management: receiving goods + ongoing inventory monitoring + inventory counts
- Keeping the shop looking fresh: product replenishment + merchandising + window displays + tidiness
- Bringing your ideas and creativity to the table
- Using, learning and trouble shooting other technology as required (ie: printers and Cricut for signage and other shop hardware)
- Some knowledge of our custom production process though this will not be an in depth area of focus for this position

**You**:
We’re not super particular about the specifics of your past work experience. We care more about who you are as a person, your outlook on life and the strengths you possess. You are a mature person with 3-5 years consistent work experience ideally in customer service but not mandatory. You must be able to easily interact with a variety of people and enjoying it is essential. You are someone who can identify areas for improvement and present solutions. You will take ownership of the role and be comfortable with having the authority to make relevant decisions and be resourceful in navigating new or unexpected scenarios. You must be mathematically inclined and have strong awareness and attention to detail. You’re easy going and like a fun environment.

**Non-negotiables**:

- Motivated with an ambition to excel at whatever the task at hand is
- Mature person with an extroverted personality
- 3-5 years consistent work experience ideally in a customer service role
- Must be available all specified hours with flexibility (outside regular day events or change to business hours)
- Comfortable using and easily learn software and other tech
- Resourcefulness, adaptability and flexibility
- Reliability, consistency, and excitement to learn are part of your work ethic
- Clear and concise communication, internally and externally

**Environment**:

- Standing and moving around the shop for the most part of your day
- May be required to lift boxes up to 30lbs
- Using step ladder to store/retrieve goods
- We work as a team, sometimes solo, sometimes with technical devices or good old pen and paper
- Repetitive movements and using things like clothing steamers
- You may be required to open the store and/or close the store alone at times
- Off street parking is provided
- May start earlier or stay later if there is a change to hours or an event (ie: Black Friday + Summer Fest or otherwise specified)
- We operate with high standards, accountability and a desire to excel at our craft for those we serve, so this role is much more than a generic retail position
- Mid-November thru December is all hands on deck time in our business

**This is not for you if**:

- Changes to processes make you uncomfortable or irritated
- You cannot make it through a shift without frequent cell phone use
- You have a clock in, clock out, that’s not my job attitude towards work
- You like to do the minimum required
- You miss a lot of work and tend to run late regularly
- You don’t really care for talking to people, local products, creativity, or have a genuine interest in what we do at the shop
