**NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR**

Reporting to the Director of IS Operations our Network Administrator is responsible for the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Also assists with the deployment, maintenance and support of the company’s server and storage infrastructure. Deep technological expertise with a wide range of computer systems, hardware, and software is an asset for the network administrator to excel in this role and help drive our organization forward.

**This role requires**:

- Two (2) year Diploma in Network Administration Technology or four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- 1-3 years’ experience working with a complex network infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience establishing, operating, maintaining and coordinating the use of local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), routers, software and related networking equipment. As well skills to set up and maintain extranet, intranet and internet services, while monitoring and optimizing network connectivity and performance. Use of scripting tools an asset.
- Experience with the Microsoft technology portfolio including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Virtualization (Hyper V), SQL Server and Microsoft Azure.
- Make judgment calls when solving technical problems as to what resources need to be involved.
- Work to improve procedures and documentation to strengthen the overall resiliency and quality of service provided by the Information Services Department.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
- Perform hands on fixes at all levels as a member of the Network Operations Help Desk Team, while focusing on second and third tier help desk tickets.
- Liaises with external suppliers of information technology goods and services.
