Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM) is looking for a fixed-income trader and portfolio manager for its Fixed Income team. DGAM is one of Canada’s largest institutional portfolio managers, with in-house expertise in equity, fixed-income securities and real assets. Based in Montreal, the Fixed Income team mainly manages bonds, preferred shares and money market instruments across a range of mandates and strategies, with nearly $75 billion in assets under management. Our team is seeking a dynamic, motivated money market portfolio manager. This position puts you at the heart of our organization, where you interact with various teams and make many transactions every day. Given the vast amounts involved, accuracy and attention to detail are essential. In addition to managing cash for all portfolios, you’re responsible for actively managing certain mandates. If you are meticulous, have an analytical mind and want to grow in a stimulating environment, we’d love to meet you. More specifically, you will be required to:

- Monitor treasury accounts daily for portfolios managed at DGAM, and execute the necessary transactions to ensure funds are available to meet portfolio needs
- Monitor financial markets, particularly the short-term sector of the Canadian and US markets
- Manage money market portfolios according to the various investment policies and value-added objectives
- Develop and maintain monitoring and analysis tools to foster a high level of expertise in your sector
- Develop and maintain relationships with market players
- Trade a variety of financial instruments, including bonds, repos, currencies and derivatives, to support the needs of the entire fixed income portfolio management team
- Work closely with all portfolio managers
- Propose value-added investment strategies
- Carry out analyses or other ad hoc projects required by the team

**What you bring to the table**
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- CFA title completed
- Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Strong proficiency in Excel, VBA, Bloomberg, and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of financial mathematics
