**Job Type**: Full-Time (40 Hours per week), In Person, Monday to Friday with occasional event support on evenings and weekends with flex time in lieu.

RaricaNow Society is a non-profit organization that supports LGBTQ2S+ Newcomers and Refugees to Canada, and Edmonton, Alberta. We pride ourselves on providing an Africentric, anti-racist, social-justice oriented supports for Black, Trans, and LGBTQ2S+ peoples in this city, and advocating for just treatment for all.

EWAKA Housing initiative is a 4-6 month transitional housing program catered to Black, Trans, and QTBIPOC members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. The program offers low-cost housing and in-house supports to assist in achieving long-term stability in their settlement process.

We are seeking an experienced and resourceful **Support Worker** to offer services, advocacy, and support to members of RaricaNow, and EWAKA Housing Initiative. The Support Worker will primarily offer personalized support to residents of EWAKA transitional housing, helping residents access language and settlement supports, work training programs, medical and mental health supports, community connections, and long-term housing. The support worker will work in alignment with RaricaNow’s mission and values, offering an Africentric approach and trauma-informed supports to members.

**Responsibilities**

**Member Support**
- Act as the primary support person for residents of EWAKA Housing, as well as for RaricaNow Members, providing a professional and welcoming experience.
- Work within a trauma-informed and anti-racist social justice framework.
- Offer emotional and personalized support to members in times of crisis, building a sense of trust, care, and respect.
- Develop individualized support plans for EWAKA Housing residents, working with them towards personal goals during their time in the housing program.
- Support with advocacy and referrals to housing, language, settlement, and employment programs.
- Write support letters for residents and members for their settlement process, referrals to external programs, and long-term housing.

**Data Tracking and Administrative Support**
- Offer administrative support, working with Administrative Assistant to document and track member files, support plans, and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and secure data to be used in funder reports.
- Contribute to grant writing, including organizational successes, and anonymized success stories for grant reporting.

**Process Improvement**
- Improve and develop organization processes and policy, to ensure client services are appropriate, timely, and successful.
- Provide organizational support, ensuring that all organizational processes adhere to legislated standards.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 1 years experience in a support worker role. Equivalencies will be considered.
- Strong commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices.
- Knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Access to a vehicle is an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a member-focused mindset.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience working with newcomers and the LGBTQ2S+ community is an asset.
- First Aid with CPR is a benefit.
- Willingness to provide a vulnerable sectors check.
