The Pension Administrator supports this purpose by working closely with Member Services and Trust Management colleagues to support effective day-to-day adminstration operations and providing excellent member experience when addressing and managing Pension-related queries and actions. **Primary Duties are, but not limited to**: - Day-to-day administration activities in support of both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension Plans as well as Group RRSP plans. - Communicate and coordinate with members, Union representatives, Actuaries, Auditors regarding benefit entitlements, data, administration, and interpretations of Plan Provisions. - Maintain up to date records for members. - Work directly with Plan Sponsors and Insurance Carriers to maintain smooth plan operation including overseeing changes to existing plans and implementing new plans. - Determine entitlements of death, retirement, termination, and marriage breakdown, shortened life expectancy in accordance with specific Plan Provisions, government legislation requirements. - Work with Actuarial firm to facilitate pension requests and process appropriate paperwork. - Work with Actuarial firm to provide member data required for valuations and member statements. - Keeping apprised of new legislation and updating applicable forms and communicating to relevant parties. - Good working knowledge of the FSRA portal and the Ontario Pension Benefits Act. - Filing of all pension plan amendments including but not limited to Plan Texts, SIP&P etc. - Ensuring that all documents are compliant and up to date including but not limited to Plan Texts, Plan Booklets, etc. - Ensuring that all process and procedures are in place to ensure the Pension Plans are compliant in every way including but not limited to missing members, booklets etc. - Complete compliance reporting including Annual Information Returns, financial statements, etc. - Generate pension plan activity reports to support regular Plan Sponsor servicing meetings. - Prepare monthly contribution files for electronic uploading to banks and insurance carriers. **Education, Skills, and Experience**: - 3+ years pension administration experience; exposure to the multi-employer Union Local environment a plus - Good understanding of applicable provincial and federal pension legislation - Working knowledge of pension administration processes and DB/DC plan design features - Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet strict timelines and work effectively within a team and independently. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to confidently interact with all levels of the organization, members, and plan sponsors - Strong analytical skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite Please note that our employees are currently working in a hybrid format.
