**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Greet customers with a welcoming acknowledgement.
- Assist customers with purchases in checkout retail area.
- Maintain checkout area in a neat and tidy manner.
- Process sales through Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Complete sales transactions through cash, debit/credit machine.
- Thank and acknowledge patrons upon leaving.
- Oversee, manage E-commerce, and FedEx parcels.
- Close and reconcile tills at end of day.
- Answer phones and direct calls over PA system.
- Scheduling of Cash/Paint Department.
- Work with, train, and oversee cashiers - assist with hiring when required.
- Order/inventory all supplies for all cash areas - bags, invoices, ribbon, cash tapes.
- Assist with deposits: reconcile all tills, review credit repair errors, make required changes to the POS system, bank deposit, supply change for tills.
- Products: create select list from CK3; create shelf labels / UPC codes
- ensure UPC codes are correct.
- Equipment Software: Maintain all POS equipment, scanners, debit machines, printers, troubleshoot and seek outside help when required.
- Assist with coverage for holidays/sick days and peak times of business.
- Assist with Over and Shorts - maintain Prism inventory in this process.
- Communicate new programs with cashier, paint desk and customer service.
- Record and set the answering machine message for holidays and hours that differ from usual store hours.
- Able to support Paint Desk by mixing, offering customer assistance/ knowledge of products.
- Assist/manage Home Hardware Systems and Programs: Connect; Home Info; Prism; Aeroplan; Home Credit Card; Top Notch; House Accounts; Credit Application process and procedures.
- Flyer tags, Feature tags, Bin tags, P.O.P. Materials, Price Buster Signage.
- Prep of weekly promotions.
- Clean retail area floor as needed.
- Project a “helpful” image to the customers.
- Treat customers as “you” would like to be treated.
- Maintain regular contact with existing customer base.
- Manage and motivate yourself and others in your area.
- Have the flexibility to work in any other temporary assignment as required.
- Treat company’s property, vehicles & inventory with respect, care & safety.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Interest in Retail Sales required.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing retail environment.
- Work well independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to lead, train and motivate other staff as needed.
- Strong computer background - learn new programs quickly.
- Multi-task in many areas: Customer Service, Paint, Housewares, Cashier.
- Motivated, self-disciplined individual with a strong work ethic.
- MUST, MUST, MUST like people
- Ability to listen and understand customer needs.
- Flexibility in Work Schedule: Store Hours 7:00 am - 8:00 pm Mon - Fri and 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Sat.
- Physically fit: able to stand, walk and assist with 30-50 lb packages.
**Hours of Service**:Flexible 40-44 hours per week
Day Shift: 7-4, 8-5, 9-6
Afternoon Shift: 12-8
**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
