**Fleet Manager**

**Position Overview**

In the role of Fleet Manager at Chairman Mills, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our GTA operations run smoothly and efficiently, meeting and exceeding customers' expectations while maintaining the highest quality standards and safety regulations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Company's fleet operations, logistics, budgeting, driver management, safety, compliance, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of fleet management principles and industry regulations.

**Essential Job Functions**

**Fleet Operations Management**:

- Develop and implement fleet management strategies, policies, and SOP’s with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations, such as vehicle registration, licensing, insurance requirements, TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), and U.S DOT (Department of Transportation).
- Monitor and maintain accurate telematics (TSO) and driver logs (ELD - Electronic Logging Device) throughout the course of the year.
- Manage the acquisition and replacement of fleet vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, and overall fleet efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, such as vehicle manufacturers, leasing companies, maintenance providers, and insurance companies.
- Ensure compliance with CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration) and take actions to improve the rating as needed.
- Meet cost, productivity, complete loads, on time delivery and pick-up, accuracy, and timeliness targets using POR.
- Ensure documentation is completed and followed up upon regarding any incidents, including but not limited to: road accidents, building damages, equipment damages, personal property, and employee health & safety.

**Budgeting and Cost Control**:

- Prepare and manage the fleet budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize fleet operations.
- Analyze financial and operational data to make informed decisions and recommendations.

**Team Management**:

- Recruit, train, and supervise fleet drivers, driver helpers, and dispatchers.
- Establish and enforce driver policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
- Address employee concerns and provide coaching or disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Monitor employee performance, including adherence to schedules and compliance with traffic laws.

**Vehicle Safety and Compliance**:

- Implement and monitor driver safety programs, including driver training and accident prevention measures.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to fleet safety and compliance.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing Drivers Abstracts and working with the drivers to meet CMMC and customers expectations.

**Collaboration and Coordination**:

- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, finance, and operations, to ensure fleet operations align with overall business objectives.
- Collaborating with dock coordinators and warehouse team to ensure driver leaves with complete loads.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and vehicle suppliers.

**Risk Management**:

- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with fleet operations, including accidents, theft, and damage.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and contingency plans.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- 3+ years in a similar management role
- Distribution/ Warehouse industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Outstanding technology skills
- Excellent reporting skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events

**Other Skills/Abilities**
- Willing to work irregular and/or long hours during a customer's event
- Have a valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract
