Horticultural Landscape Attendant

**The Town of Hanover is recruiting an enthusiastic and experienced leader with a green thumb to join the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department as a seasonal Horticultural Landscape Attendant.**

This seasonal position generally runs from April to November each year.

Reporting to the Manager of Parks & Facilities, responsibilities for the position will include:

- Maintaining horticultural planting areas and features located throughout the Town of Hanover.
- Providing on-site direction, supervision and motivation to student horticultural labourers.
- Assessing plantings and providing recommendations for horticultural work planning.
- Maintaining and ensuring cleanliness of outdoor park furniture, amenities and features.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in horticulture and landscaping or equivalent work experience (minimum of three years)
- Experience operating hand tools, mowers, trimmers, split shaft multi tool, etc.
- Valid Ontario “G2” or higher license in good standing, with ability to drive a truck with trailer.
- Experience leading and directing others an asset.
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to adapt to changing situations.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks while working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be willing and able to work weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays as required
- Must be willing and able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Background Check yielding results satisfactory to the Town of Hanover (if hired)

Remuneration as per the current CUPE Collective Agreement.

**Experience**:
