**Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Facilities and Equipment Technician to join our team at Prairie Meats. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and facilities. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our commitment to quality and efficiency. This role requires a well-rounded skill set with a focus on electronic controls, as well as solid mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting experience.

**Responsibilities**
- Diagnose and repair equipment issues involving **electronic control systems**, including relays, sensors, switches, and basic PLC components
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on **mechanical systems**, such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and gearboxes
- Troubleshoot and service **pneumatic systems**, including valves, cylinders, and air lines
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Assist with installation and setup of new equipment, machinery and fixtures
- Maintain building systems
- Respond to facility service requirements based on assigned work priority
- Ensure all work meets personal safety, **food safety and sanitation standards**

**Requirements**:

- 2+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or similar industrial environment
- Knowledge of scheduled maintenance procedures, lubrication, inspection and servicing techniques
- Ability to understand and work with mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, pumps and compressors
- Basic understanding of electronic components, control circuits, and diagnostics
- Hands-on experience with **mechanical repairs** and **pneumatic systems**:

- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Skilled use of tools required for repair and maintenance (i.e. drills, wrenches, grinders, saws)
- Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems, maintenance logs and basic office software
- Accuracy in maintenance tasks and documentation
- Comfortable working in changing environments and responding to urgent issues
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
