**Overview of Position**:
This position will report into the Head of Market Research. The Market Research Team helps to drive data-based insights and acts as the Voice of the Customer for GM Canada’s Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and Corporate brands.

As the UX Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting user experience and market research projects to provide insights that will shape our websites experience. The role requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and deep understanding of both market trends and user behaviors. You will be working closely with GM Canada’s Digital Team, providing insights from your research to guide their development of the Digital Customer Experience.

**Key Activities**:

- _User Experience Assessment_ - Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research through methods such as user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiries. Develop customer personas, user journey flows, and build scenario testing studies.
- _Data Analysis and Reporting:_ Analyze and interpret data to generate insights and actionable recommendations for improving user experience. Data sources may range from qualitative sources like verbatims, survey data, and other quantitative sources like syndicated studies, site and product analytics, and CRM data.
- _Survey Development and Management _- Design and deploy research surveys (both qualitative and quantitative surveys) on specialized data collection platforms. Identify research gaps, develop action plans to address missing insights and improve holistic understanding of users and experiences.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- 2+ years’ experience conducting exploratory and/or qualitative research, with demonstratable understanding of qualitative data analysis techniques.
- Working understanding of qualitative research techniques including Design Thinking, framing questions, and building discussion guides.
- Experience in quantitative analysis, including statistical methods will be an advantage.
- Capable to plan and build research studies to address stakeholders’ objectives.
- Collaborate with different stakeholders like product managers, designers, and developers to incorporate research findings into the development process. Advocate the user’s perspective to influence the design and development process of GM websites.
- Discipline in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Automotive industry experience is an asset.
- Experience in a Qualitative research function will be an advantage. Designing the Discussion Guides, conducted Focus group discussions and/or conducted in-depth interviews, and analyzed qualitative research data will be an advantage.

**Technical Skills**:

- Experience with platform like UserTesting, Decibel, HEAPs, Qualtrics, or similar platforms.
- Experience with business intelligence visualization tools will be an asset (PowerBI).
- Knowledge of NLP and AI tools will be an advantage.
- Professional courses on Qualitative Research, Ethnographies, Marketing Research, Design Thinking concepts will be an advantage.

**Education and Training**:

- Bachelor’s degree: a major in Business, Marketing, Economics, Math/Statistics, or Sociology is preferred.
