**Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Assistant**

Our production environment contains state-of-the-art equipment, ranging from 5-axis machining and laser cutting to SMT board production - Pick and place, AOI and selective soldering, all located at our greenfield facility in Port Perry.

We are looking to hire a qualified and experienced **Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Assistant**, to play a pivotal role in the production of custom electronic components by operating, maintaining, and monitoring our SMT equipment. Duties and responsibilities include:

- Operating, and taking good care to look after, our SMT equipment—including daily setups and tear-downs
- Working closely with ‘Pick and Place’ technicians, to ensure efficient P&P set-ups
- Inspecting printed circuit boards (PCBs) for placing surface-mount devices (SMDs) onto
- Mounting electronic components directly onto circuit boards
- Utilizing feeders list and ‘bills of materials’ to pick and setup parts of feeders
- Making good use of our SMT equipment to improve processes, and adopting procedures for streamlining results
- Handling and storing materials/boards using ESD guidelines.
- **Qualifications Required**_
- Minimum one-year’s experience in electronic manufacturing, is preferred
- Willingness to continuously learn more advanced SMT operations
- Capable interpersonal and written (English) communication skills
- Exceptional hands-eye coordination
- Basic soldering capability and prior experience.

- 8 hour shift
