The Production Director is responsible for leading the dairy processing, packaging and raw materials operations of Agropur’s Don Mills facility.

**What’s involved in this role**
- More specifically, the responsibilities of the Production Director include:

- Production Planning
- Collaboration with the Production Planning Manager to develop and effective short term production schedule and medium-term production plan.
- Production Management
- Effectively execute the production plan for a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation
- Manage production effectively to ensure sustainable cost competitiveness and customer service
- Ensure that finished products are consistently manufactured according to safety, quality, environmental and relevant manufacturing standards
- Deliver short term and long term KPI’s related to PQCDSME
- Manage a large team across all shifts including headcount planning, resource allocation and discipline
- Lean Manufacturing
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement and zero losses
- Lead the implementation of autonomous maintenance program for the site
- Collaborate with Operation Effectiveness teams and pillar owners to deliver the sites lean manufacturing roadmap
- Management and Leadership
- Operate effectively within a unionized environment.
- Plan and deploy human resources to deliver the strategic and operational plan.
- Develop the careers and skills of the team in a structured manner.
- Partners effectively with all multi-functional peers, both internal and external, to deliver KPI and strategic goals.
- Build a culture that embraces lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Drive organization change utilizing change management principles

- Participates in grievances meetings providing leadership and direction to grievance resolution and responses.

**What you need to join our team**
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive manufacturing experience in the food or consumer goods industry
- Minimum of 7years of experience leading a team in a production environment
- Proven track record of delivery and change management in a complex manufacturing site
- Extensive experience leading and implementing lean manufacturing
- Dynamic leader experienced with operating in a unionised site
- Ability to handle conflict while creating and inclusive work environment
- Ability to balance short term operational delivery with tactical and strategic thinking
