**PATIENT CARE MANAGER**

**(PERMANENT FULL TIME)**

**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the ongoing operations of the patient care department including patient care, scheduling, policies, procedures, documentation and standards of care
- Responsible for financial management of clinical programs - operating & capital
- Facilitates the clinical service committees and ensure an annual work plan is developed with key deliverables that are patient centered and related to strategic plan
- Responsible for leadership, the implementation of best practice, the promotion of collaboration and effective communication, and promoting a just culture
- Participates in the development of professional practice across the Wellington Health Care Alliance
- Supports the development of the key deliverables of the strategic plan management plan, safety, quality and performance improvement initiatives, patient care and quality frameworks to build a sustainable system to ensure excellence in patient care
- Responsibilities include human resources planning, management and recruitment, quality and risk management, performance development and Accreditation Required Organization practices and Standards
- Demonstrates leadership in emergency preparedness planning, infection prevention & control and occupational health & safety
- Participates on Provincial, Regional, and local Committees as required to promote, advocate and represent the Hospital

**Qualifications**:

- Health Care Professional in good standing with their respective College
- BScN Undergraduate Degree or equivalent in a respective field required, Masters preferred
- Minimum of 3 years direct clinical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting (rural hospital experience an asset), or equivalent in a respective field
- Evidence of lifelong learning and professional development
- Comprehensive knowledge of standards of care, professional standards, best practice, evidence-informed decision making, legislative requirements, risk management and quality improvement
- Demonstrated excellence in communication both written and verbal
- Demonstrated conflict management skills, project management, continuous quality improvement and change management
- Excellent critical thinking/decision making knowledge and skills, program design, development and LEAN principles
- Strong computer/technology skills and able to lead technology implementation related to patient care
- Able to work independently, meet timelines, work within and lead a team, strong organizational skills
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Creative, innovative and flexible

**Additional Qualifications**:

- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

**Hours of Work**:

- 37.5 hours per week
- The majority of the work will be completed during normal business hours Monday to Friday
- Occasionally attendance at meetings/hospital events during non-traditional hours (early morning, evenings and weekends) is required
- Required to be part of the afterhours administration on-call team

**Salary**:

- $59.76 - $69.91 per hour

This position requires travel amongst the three hospital sites and therefore a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
