Plants have been shown to reduce anxiety and stress. Since the pandemic the interest in plants has grown and you can help people find plants that thrive in someone’s garden to help them be healthier and enjoy the outdoors. As the Shrub and Tree buyer your daily goal is to ensure that customers’ needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. You assist the Store Manager to direct the day-to-day activities of the store, increase store sales, and maintain a high level of customer service.

The position is full-time, year-round. The hours involve working one weekend day as well evenings during the busy season(s).

- You are a mature, organized person who can provide customer service
- You have knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, bulbs, and garden products
- You have the abilities and skills necessary to work with management, staff, and suppliers to meet the needs of the customers
- You are physically fit and able, frequent lifting is involved unloading trucks and selling plants, soils, and fertilizers
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience working in a retail garden centre

This position is at our Surrey store and involves purchasing, receiving, pricing, displaying, and selling shrubs and trees, as well as other garden items to ensure that a customer is successful in growing. You work directly with the Store Manager and General Manager.
