**Overview**

**Duties**
- Make accurate and cost-effective recommendations for individual part repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and machinery.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete tasks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Document maintenance activities and report any significant findings to management.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Machinist Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required.
- Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify.
- Multiple years’ working experience and competency in a crank, block salvage or machine shop.
- Previous experience machining engine blocks.
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using power tools and hand tools.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy in measuring skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
- Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
