ABOUT THE TEAM

The Active Equities (AE) helps manage global portfolios of publicly traded companies in both Developed and Emerging Markets. Active Equities is part of the Global Alpha organization within PSP

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As an Intern, Active Equities you will provide support and input to the AE team in various aspects of its investment process, including, but not limited to: (1) building economic dashboards, (2) screening and analyzing new investment opportunities, including conducting financial and fundamental analysis of companies in a dedicated sector and/or geographic region

WHAT YOU’LL NEED- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce - Finance option; or similar program involving coursework in Finance, Economics, and Business OR- Currently enrolled in a master’s or MBA program, concentration in Finance, Economics or Business- High academic achievement- Excellent financial and analytical skills- Superior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools, including strong Excel skills and at least moderate knowledge of Bloomberg- Demonstrate initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts to provide comprehensive, value added research- Ability to work autonomously on specific assignments while being cognizant of the need to involve senior team members- Strong interpersonal and communication (spoken and written) skills to present findings and recommendations- Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines- Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English. Knowledge of French (or willingness to learn) and fluency in other languages is a plus. *Regular interactions in English with investment partners based outside of Quebec. Example: peers, bankers, brokerage firms, etc. and PSP employees in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa-
- Options include Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid open work permit
