We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join the dedicated, forward thinking information systems team in our downtown Toronto office.

DATA ANALYST - TORONTO

**Position Overview**:
As a Data Analyst within our Data & Analytics Team, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data to drive actionable insights and support our strategic goals. You will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to ensure the availability, accuracy, and usability of data assets critical to our operations.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of data to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns that can inform business decisions.
- Data Preparation and Cleaning: Collaborate with data engineers to collect, clean, and transform raw data into structured datasets suitable for analysis.
- Data Governance: Contribute to the establishment and enforcement of data governance policies and best practices.
- Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement data quality checks and validations to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data analysis processes, data dictionaries, and standard operating procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
- Reporting and Visualization: Create informative and visually appealing dashboards and reports to communicate key insights to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance data analysis capabilities within the team.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Software Eng, or relevant courses and certifications.
- 5+ years of experience as a data analyst, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with data modeling and database design is an advantage.
- Prior work experience in commercial insurance or financial industry an asset.

**Programming experience with the following**:
**Must have**:

- Excellent T-SQL skills.
- Ability to write readable and well-documented code for ease of maintenance.
- SSRS report design and report-side scripting.

**Nice to have**:

- MS Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate).
- DAX.
