Job Description for Install Skilled/General Labourer

**Date: August 11th, 2025**

**Main functions**:
Working out of the Aldergrove Yard, the Install Skilled/General Labourer travels to different jobsites to work towards the completion of installing or removal of modular unit(s) under the direction of their supervisor. While also maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

**Reports to**:
Install Foreman(s)

**Duties**:
The Install Skilled Labourer performs the following duties:

- Load, unload tools, prepare building site materials stack building materials and set up equipment.
- Follow the project instructions from the construction manager or supervisor.
- Consult with construction plans.
- Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
- Follow all occupational health and safety regulations while operating heavy machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Ensure regulated and proper personal protective equipment, including headgear (i.e., hardhat), earplugs, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, footwear (i.e., steel-toed boots) and clothing (i.e., high-vis vest/jacket) are worn when necessary.
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
- Safely operate a variety of tools, including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, air tools, nail guns and grinders.
- Safely operate a variety of machinery, including forklift (if certified), ditch-witch.
- Provide assistance to contractors (i.e., craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed.
- Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints (if certified).
- Safely clean and clear debris and hazardous materials. Remove rubble and other debris at sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
- Ensure construction equipment, machines and tools are cleaned, in working order and stored properly (including Pointblank Installations trucks and trailers).
- Inform superiors and take necessary actions to correct, if equipment, machines, or tools are not safe or in working order.
- Assist heavy equipment operators (such as cranes or semi trucks) to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.
- Assist in demolishing modular buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials.
- Renovate Modular Buildings.
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite clear of debris, and hazards (including hazardous waste).
- Comply with all Employment and Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain and aid in updating Install General Labourer job description depending on if duties/responsibilities have changed or evolved.
- Perform other activities as directed by superiors.

**Working Conditions**:

- Workweeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day starting at 5-6am in the morning with option for overtime (job dependent).
- 3-month probation period.
- Performance meetings with superiors once a year or as often as deemed necessary.
- Occasionally will need to work on the weekend but will receive a weekday off in lieu of.
- Overtime (any hours worked over 80 in two weeks) will be paid time and a half or to avoid going over the 80 hours in two weeks will result in day(s) off in lieu of.
- Work in a variety of locations in ALL weather conditions. Including our Aldergrove yard.
- Occasionally will need to work out of town, but within British Columbia.
- The Install Skilled Labourer is entitled to one half an hour of paid time for lunch.
- The Install Skilled Labourer is entitled to 2 weeks off a year after 1 year of work at 4% for the first 5 years and 3 weeks after 5 years at 6%.
- The Install Skilled Labourer is eligible for Benefits of health, dental, vision and life insurance after 3 months of working for the company.

**Employment Requirements**:

- Punctual, meticulous, organized, and reliable.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of management.
- Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation including _The Workers Compensation Act _and the _BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation_
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift 50lbs or more.
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team.
- Capable of physical, manual labour.
- Positive attitude and work ethic.
- Have a reliable method of getting to work on time.
- Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders, working at elevated levels such as on top of buildings (if certified).
- Courteous manners with the public, staff, and management.
- Minimum 1 year of Labourer position. (for skilled labourer)

**Possible Requirements**:

- Forklift, first aid, fall restraint training, or heavy haul endorsement if deemed necessary.
