**HOURS OF WORK**:up to 24 hour workweek / variable hours

**LOCATION**:You will report to various locations such as: Snelgrove Community Centre, The Rose Studio, Cyril Clark theatre, Lester B. Pearson (LBP) theatre, etc.

**HOURLY RATE**:$36.15

**AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
Reporting to the Education & Outreach Coordinator, Facilitators are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a high-quality program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of participants at all times.
- Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating arts and culture classes for all levels of participants
- Keep current with industry trends and new class formats
- Provide a high level of front-line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
- Communicate with participants regarding program opportunities and accident prevention
- Support the participation of professional artists as guest instructors in classes
- Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
- Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)
- Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
- Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
- Participate in on-site and off-site promotional and community events
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
- Attend meetings/training as required
- Performs other duties as assigned

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:

**EDUCATION**:

- Formal or informal training in education, community engagement, recreation, or equivalent field
- Formal or informal training to achieve specialization in one or more areas of the arts

**OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS**:

- Demonstrate ability during practical assessment
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Experience with diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to equity
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- **Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton._
- **_Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria._
