Bartender (Full Time)

The Granite Club is looking for a Bartender who, under the direction of the Restaurant Management team, will create a positive dining experience by displaying excellent beverage and food knowledge throughout the various bars in the Club. Bartenders are required to act as ambassadors and representatives of the Club as a whole, as Member perceptions of the Club in general are influenced by the front-line staff they encounter.

Primary Responsibilities
- Open and close the bar according to Granite Club standards.
- Maintain a welcoming environment through strict cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Create a positive Member experience through interaction and adherence to steps of service.
- Be knowledgeable of all beverage and food items to make recommendations.
- Prepare drinks to Granite Club specifications in a fast, accurate manner.
- Ensure accuracy when entering information into the POS system.
- Ensure Members are satisfied with their food, beverages and service.
- Respond promptly and courteously to any requests or concerns.
- Able to successfully solve problems through good decision making.
- Perform cocktailing and food service in the bar as required.
- Monitor cleanliness of the bar area and ensure it is presentable before, during and after service.
- Ensure the bar is adequately stocked with necessary mise-en-place prior to service.
- Wash, polish and arrange glassware in a neat and tidy manner.
- Prepare requisitions for food and beverage items and stock items when delivered.
- Actively demonstrate teamwork, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy.
- Report all equipment and maintenance issues to a Restaurant Manager.
- Follow all fire and emergency procedures.
- Knowledgeable about the employee handbook and follow all the policies.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education and 2 years related work experience.
- Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal)
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Wine, beer and cocktail knowledge is required.
- Excellent Communication and Social Skills.
- Emotionally Mature, Respectful and Sincere.
- Well Groomed and Courteous.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications.

Work Schedule
- Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
