Temporary Full-time
Working collaboratively within the Human Resource Services team and reporting to the Human Resources Advisor, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing various front-line HR services across the organization with a mindset to create exceptional service experiences through every interaction. The HR Generalist acts as a business champion to develop and deliver effective, integrated HR solutions and programs aligned with departmental and organizational strategic and business objectives. Primary areas of responsibility include the effective planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the HR programs of talent acquisition, recruitment, onboarding, and learning and development. This position has an end date of on or before January 30, 2026, based on operational requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support workforce planning by identifying current and future staffing needs and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for employees, including orientations, workflow management, and completion of required documentation.
- Maintain and update HR content on internal and external platforms, including the Town’s careers page and HR SharePoint site.
- Assist in reviewing, developing, and implementing HR policies, procedures, and forms to ensure alignment with current legislation and best practices.
- Provide support and coverage across the HR Services team—including payroll, benefits, and occupational health and safety—when needed, fostering a collaborative and service-focused team environment.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in Human Resource Management, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience within an HR Generalist capacity.
- (Note: combinations and equivalencies of education and experience may be considered)
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is an asset.
- CPHR Designation (or currently in progress) is an asset.
- Direct experience in recruitment or talent acquisition is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Collective Agreements.
- Ceridian Dayforce and experience with HRMS module implementations is an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
**Compensation/Hours of Work**:
Wage range of $44.28 to $46.98 per hour. Hours of work are based on a 35-hour work week.
