The City of Brooks requires one (1) Temporary Utility Operator in Public Works Services.
**Job Details & Responsibilities**:
As our Utility Operator you will assists Operators in day to day maintenance of the Wastewater Collection Systems.
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of six (6) months of general laborer experience preferred;
- A demonstrated interest in the operation of waste water collection;
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Q-Endorsement and Clean driver’s abstract preferred;
- Capable of working outside in all types of weather;
- Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;
- Certificates for Ground Disturbance, Confined Space, Fall Protection, H2S Certification, Equipotential Bonding Certificate are preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package with this position falling within the scope of the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1032.
- The 2025 salary range for this position is $31.62 to $33.11 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. This position may include shifts in the evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Additionally, you will receive a free family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during your term of employment.
