The therapeutic recreation camp staff will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive and adapted programming designed for children and youth with disabilities.

TheraBounce is seeking energetic and compassionate staff to build a dynamic team for the summer of 2024.

Positions Available:

- Inclusion Counsellors (5)

Locations of Work
- TheraBounce North York 37 Densley Ave, North York ON

Hours of Work:

- 2 full days staff training (June Dates TBD)
- 6 Full weeks of camp (Monday-Friday approx hours 8:45-4:30)
- 2 Short weeks of camp (Tuesday-Friday approx hours 8:45-4:30)

First day of Camp: July 2nd 2024
Last day of Camp: Aug 31st 2024
- *No Camp at TheraBounce North York July 29th
- Aug 2nd; however, camp will be running at TheraBounce Markham (360 John St) July 29th-Aug 2nd (staff able to opt in or out)_

Program staff: Rolling schedule, one of the following:

- 8:30am-4:15pm
- 8:45am-4:30pm
- 9:00am-4:45pm
+30 minutes per week for staff meeting to review assigned campers

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement inclusive Therapeutic Recreation programming for a group of children with varying abilities
- Support campers through daily activities, including feeding, personal care, and activity adaptation
- Maintain and safe and accessible space during and between planned activities
- Work collaboratively with camp staff and clinicians to create a meaningful experience for campers
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and volunteers

**Skills**:

- Experience working with children
- Experience working with children who have disabilities is an asset
- Enthusiastic and dynamic disposition
- Strong observational and communication skills to engage with individuals with varying means of communication (ASL, AAC, eye gaze, limited responses, etc.)
- Creative thinking and prompt adaptations regarding activities and programming
- Experience implementing programming for children is an asset (e.g. coaching, camp staff experience, childcare, respite, etc.)
- Experience or ability to develop skills for lifting and transferring
- Non-violent crisis intervention (NVCI) or Behaviour Management Systems Training (BMST) certifications are an asset

- Standard First Aid/CPR-C

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $17.50-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
