**Global Banking and Markets**

Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious & metals. **Purpose**

Analyst - Fixed Income is responsible for the resolutions on redemptions, maturities, and partial call including Government of Canada Bonds, Municipal Bonds, Corporate Bonds, Provincial Bonds, Banker Acceptance, and Term Deposit. The incumbent verifies the principal rates, currency with CDS/DTC/EUROCLEAR/CLEARSTREAM/BNP/CITI payments. The incumbent ensures that all outstanding items are correctly resolved and each issue is completely balanced. The incumbent responds to inquiries from branches and other internal clients and counterparties’ claims.

**Accountabilities**

**Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.**
- Ensure that accurate and timely resolution of bond Reorg events payments
- Ensure wire payments processed within special time frame as per client standard instructions.
- Responding promptly and professionally to inquiries from customers, business lines supported and other units within Securities and Operations including senior level officers and Management.
- Providing insight and support to Manager during the planning, organizing and preparing of project related activities affecting the unit and ensuring successful implementation of changes to related processes and / or systems in support of our business partners.

**Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.**
- Process reorg events only after funds received from depositories or custodians
- Reconcile debit/credit balances on various control accounts.
- Ensure firm breaks are fixed on timely manner.
- Prepare forecast cash summary report for maturity daily.
- Provide record keeping documents for internal and external audit.

**Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.**
- Follow bank policies and procedures on processing
- Ensure maturity and redemption accurately set up on Reorg.
- Ensure maturity and redemption and other reorg events process as per the special requirements based on BNS business lines.
- Ensure that all payments are received and reconciled.
- Process Reorg booking to clients once funds received,
- Process interest/premium payments on reorg issues such as partial call, redemption to control account and notify bonds officers.
- Process State of Israel bond purchase.
- Ensure that BESS/ABB/Transit wire payments straight through process is processed within specified time frames with accuracy.
- Process incoming/outgoing claims when required.
- Notify counterparties for call positions before payable date.
- Reconcile with reconciliation department on stock record breaks and firm breaks.
- Resolve outstanding breaks on control accounts for all currencies on a timely basis.
