Lead CNC Setup Machinist

**The Position**: We’re looking for someone to be a part of our Production Team as a Lead CNC Operator. You would be contributing to the team by running between 3 and 5 CNC Machines. You will be in charge of your setups as well as helping other team members complete theirs. You will also help fellow CNC Operators when they have a troubleshooting problem. Your support system will include CNC Operator Assistants to help run your machines while you setup machines up, Quality Inspectors to help check part requirements and Manufacturing Engineers to help you get the job done.

Pay range is $20 - $30 / hr based upon experience, your ability to run machines, your ability to help your teammates and your ability to produce good parts. We review pay annually and it increases with ability as well as dedication and effort (e.g. how independent you are, if you’re able to learn to work on various different machines and areas in the plant, your ability to help the QC Inspectors and other operators; in a small company we know WHO does WHAT Your effort will notgo unnoticed here).

**Shift**:We are currently looking for people on day or afternoon shift.

**Working Conditions**: Lead CNC Operators spend 100% of their time in the plant environment. Exercise that includes lifting, standing and walking are all part of the job

**Responsibilities**:

- Run 3 to 5 CNC machines efficiently and safely to produce good parts
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings so you know the part dimensions and tolerances
- Responsible for machine setups as well as helping your teammates with theirs
- Troubleshoot your own machine as well as help your teammates troubleshoot theirs
- Take care of your machines by identifying and properly installing the correct inserts, tooling, and clamping fixtures
- Perform tool wear offsets and adjustments as needed to keep your parts in specification
- Verify dimensions of parts using precision measuring instruments
- Communicate any quality problems to the Manufacturing Engineer so they can help you get the job done
- Maintain a clean work area (floors swept, trays neat in the proper location with the proper tags)

**Skill Requirements**:

- Confident with basic hand tools
- Basic math skills: addition and subtraction
- Ability to multitask to keep all machines running
- Comfortable lifting, up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable in a factory environment
- Able to communicate quality issues or machine problems
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Basic math skills: addition and subtraction

**Experience**:

- CNC or machining experience
- CNC setup experience
- Manufacturing and/or warehouse minimum of 3 years (preferred)

Everyone must respect each other’s comfort level. Masks are no longer required but should be worn following an illness. Hand sanitizer is available. Disinfectant sprays are used before and after sitting for break. A cleaner is employed on staff.
