Edmonton, Canada Time Escape Full time

**Position Summary**:

- Work closely with the Game Designer to accurately bring puzzle concepts, room layouts, and immersive elements from idea to reality.
- Participate in design briefings to fully understand creative intent, gameplay flow, and functional requirements.
- Interpret and execute detailed design documents, technical drawings, and build specifications without deviation from the approved vision.
- Provide input on fabrication feasibility while respecting the designer’s creative direction.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and proposed solutions to the Game Designer in a timely manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Fabrication & Construction**:

- Construct escape room props, puzzles, furniture, and set pieces from wood, plastic, metal, foam, and other materials.
- Work with power tools, hand tools, and fabrication machinery (saws, drills, sanders, etc.).
- Assist in scenic painting, aging, and set dressing to meet theme and design standards.

**Technical & Mechanical Work**:

- Integrate mechanical elements like magnets, actuators, switches, pulleys, and pneumatic devices for puzzle functionality.
- Assist in basic electrical wiring and LED installation for props and room lighting.
- Troubleshoot and repair broken props, puzzles, and room elements.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Strong carpentry and woodworking skills.
- Experience with power tools and hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, LED lighting, and low-voltage systems (an asset).
- Experience with prop making, set design, theatrical construction, or scenic painting (preferred).
- Basic understanding of electronics, Arduino, or similar microcontrollers (an asset but not mandatory).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or concept art.
- Comfortable lifting and moving heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.

**Bonus Skills (Optional but Valued)**:

- Knowledge of basic pneumatics or robotics.
- Experience with Arduino / Raspberry Pi / PLC controllers.
- Mold making, casting, or 3D printing.
- Basic programming skills for interactive puzzles.

Note: If you have trouble building an Ikea furniture then this not a position for you.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
