We are currently looking for an experienced **Licensed Carpenter** to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager, this individual will take on construction projects by completing all aspects of carpentry required at each project and task you are required to complete.

The **Licensed carpenter **will be self-motivated and possess thorough carpentry and communication skills. This Carpenter position requires multiple years of residential or commercial construction industry experience, with proven proficiency in all aspects of Carpentry.

**Success Profile**

**Technically proficient in all aspects of carpentry. Including but not limited to**:

- Proficient in wood framing for new homes and complex renovations. Including floor, wall and roof framing (including hand-cut roofs);
- Proficient in installing doors, trimming (casing, baseboards, crown), and other custom millwork;
- Ability to carry out demolition tasks such as removal and disposal of existing structures, framing, and finishes;
**Communicating with team members, subcontractors and customers**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Listening to team members, subcontractors and customers to understand what is required for the task at hand. Asking questions for clarification.
- Providing on-the job training to apprentices to help them learn various aspects of carpentry;
**Read and understand building design and specification documents**:

- Read blueprints to accurately execute construction based on the building design;
- Review product specifications to ensure proper product installation or preparation in the building process;
- Coordinate your daily/weekly work with the project manager to make sure you have tools and materials necessary to complete tasks/projects;
**Working independently or as part of a team**:

- Self motivated, able to work independently and complete tasks as required by the project;
- Work well with team members and subcontractors to complete the project.
- Stong work ethic, ‘can-do’ attitude;

- Develop strong relationships with project partners, establish and clearly communicate and execute project objectives;
- Ensure Quality Workmanship - no call backs or warranty;
- Proactively anticipate problems and suggest solutions to avoid customer complaints;
**Fosters an enthusiastic, creative, “can-do” attitude, and shares the responsibility for the Company and overall departmental success in reaching its goals**:

- Use Co-Construct efficiently and effectively for time sheets and checking scope of work; Ensure all tools and materials are prepared each day to enable projects to be produced in the most efficient manner possible;
- Work in a pre-planned and efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame;
- Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays;
- Promote proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment;
- Promote and comply with the health and safety policy, Workplace health and safety guidelines, Ontario Health and Safety Act;
- Promote and comply with rules and regulations;
- Maintain and promote a positive image of Tucker Homes both internally and externally;
**Key Competencies**:

- Carpentry license (Ontario license, Red Seal or equivalent);
- 5 years experience in the residential construction industry;
- Working at heights training;
- First Aid training and Supervisor training is an asset;
- Training and work experience in building envelope and air sealing an asset;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to provide leadership without formal authority and manage diverse functional project teams.
- Able to navigate complexity and uncertainty; able to function in a rapidly changing environment;
- Comfortable interacting and communicate effectively with all team members;
- Willing and able to travel to project locations within Ontario as required;
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record;
