Industrial Cleaner/labourer

Latem Industries is a manufacturing facility located on Struck Court in Cambridge Ontario. We are Canada's premiere cleaner and coater of metal parts.

We have 1 opening for an Industrial Cleaner on the day shift (6:30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday). Please note that the bus does not get you here for 6:30. You must have your own transportation.

You must be physically fit and able to bend/lift repeatedly. It can be a warm work environment in the summer.

**Cleaner duties are**:

- Clean machinery as required
- Run the floor scrubber (Zamboni style) over plant floors and company trailers
- Wipe down plant doors, lock boxes etc
- Paint equipment and posts etc.
- Wipe down floor scrubber and electrical panels
- Wipe down all control panels, computer, cabinets and lights
- Clean fans
- Wipe down eye wash stations, storage cabinet and railings
- Wipe down computer, stand, table, fans, lights
- Clean fume hoods
- Wipe down scales and scale display
- Use harness safety and scissor lift to access/clean higher walls and equipment
- Light maintenance as required

Must be mechanically inclined to maintain Zamboni and help with odd jobs around the company such as changing light bulbs, and other minor repairs.

**This position is also the occasional back up for the Mix Room/Waste Water Technician. Duties for this role include**:
**Waste water duties** include:

- Ensuring our output is in compliance with the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the waste water area
- Keep a log of all waste water treatment and activities using HACH DR900
- Proper cleaning of all waste water equipment and emptying of Waste Water sludge presses.

**Mix Room duties include**:

- Must be able to follow a recipe and procedure precisely
- Operate all the machinery used in the mixing process safely and carefully.
- Lifting and loading loads in the mixer in an accurate way.
- Follow a rigid order (recipe) of adding the ingredients into the mixer
- Must follow the Mixing Procedure in the tolerances specified.
- Operate the Fork Lift and hydraulic lift in a safe manner
- Maintain the Mix Room area keeping it clean and neat.
- Clean mixing tanks, totes, floor spills, etc.
- Computer use-data entry, logs and formulations
- Operate machinery, control panels and dust collector
- How to access, read and find information in the Work Instruction Binder
- Start up, shut down and safe operation of all machinery (mixers, vacuums, dust collector)

**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**: **Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs - required for mixing of chemicals**
- Must be able to follow procedural and safety instructions accurately in regards to mixing chemicals, equipment cleaning, etc.
- Must be able to accurately compile data and be a licensed lift truck operator (can train in-house)

This position works 6:30-3pm monday to friday.
