To provide the plant with a high level of Electrical expertise to ensure the company objectives are supported, maintenance goals are efficiently and effectively met, departmental downtime goals and preventative maintenance schedules are achieved. To carry out equipment and building repairs as required, while adhering to quality, safety, food safety and legislative standards and guidelines.
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**
This following list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the job described. Rather they are intended only to describe the general nature of the job.
Ø Ensure proper performance and operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for production
Ø Minimize production downtime by completing preventive maintenance inspections, planned work orders and responding to breakdowns and emergency repairs in an expedited and efficient manner
Ø Installs, maintains and repairs all electrical systems and machineries at the plant.
Ø Provide support to production in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and basic mechanical breakdowns.
Ø Complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards i.e. GMP, HACCP, WHIMIS, and MSDS etc.
Ø Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration activities. Maintain an updated record of PM.
Ø Identify opportunities to continuously improve maintenance operations
Ø Perform pre-dial electrical installation when required as per the Canadian Electrical Code.
Ø Able to perform repair, replacement, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in the following items:
- tubing, fittings and air supply, pressure devises, level switch, temperature sensor, flow meters, regulators and valves, power drives, identify machine components, water pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic system, vacuum systems, control system (sensor, limit switch, PLC reading input/output feedback).
Ø CMMS System: create work orders, update the system, close work orders, etc.
Ø Completes Maintenance reports and logs as required.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
Ø Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ø Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
Ø Preferably electrical experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Ø Strong preventive, maintenance and troubleshooting ability.
Ø Must be flexible in terms of shift work.
Ø Great Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code Book.
Ø Great troubleshoot skills in PLC, VFDs and Motor control circuit.
Ø Responsible and highly adaptable to work under pressure and respond to changes
Ø Ability to prioritize, plan and organize work to manage multiple work orders to meet deadlines
Ø Ability to excel within a fast-paced team environment and function independently with mínimal supervision
Ø Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms required.
**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**
Ø Must have an Interprovincial Red Seal Electrical Trade ticket.
Ø 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role
Ø Experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance within a manufacturing environment is preferred
