We are currently looking to hire a Live-In Maintenance Associate who would be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. If you are **a proven decision-maker, work well under pressure, customer service oriented and have pre-existing maintenance experience as a Live-In, **you would be a perfect addition to our team

**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- Observe and monitor all areas of the premises for ongoing maintenance requirements and carries out preventative maintenance programmes as directed.
- Performs typical work such as replacing fuses, clearing drains, repairing furniture, painting, pressure washing of garage, replacing floor and/or ceiling tiles and removing garbage, removing and re-hanging curtains and drapes, cleaning windows and light fixtures, sweeping and scrubbing storage and utility rooms.
- Provide general assistance to skilled tradespersons such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, painters, etc.
- Conduct regular maintenance rounds to ensure all life safety, building and support systems are functioning properly.
- Work closely with the resident services team to respond to work orders in a timely manner
- Maintain all work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner and assures proper care in the use of tools, equipment and supplies.
- Cooperate with other departments in such tasks as transferring residents, moving and storing supplies and moving furniture and equipment.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, safety, and environment and infection control.
- Perform outside work such as gardening, cutting grass, and when necessary removing snow and sanding or salting as required.
- Establish and maintain communications with other departments and works cooperatively in carrying out duties to assure the needs of residents are being met.
- Comply with Health and Safety and WHMIS requirements for Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ensure the privacy of residents during the performance of duties
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Skills/Qualifications**:

- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing and carpentry; ability to read and interpret manuals related to equipment and building systems.
- Good Customer service skills.
- Must be able to work well under pressure in emergency situations.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Professional manner and ability to work independently.
- Proven decision-maker and analytical thinker.
- BES certificate an asset.

**Physical Demands**:

- Considerable lifting, stretching, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, standing, walking and bending.

**Working Condition**:

- Must be able to work weekends and holidays - no exceptions.
- Will be on call 24-7
- May be exposed to garbage or construction site
