Manager, Testing and Quality Assurance

Overview:
As the Manager, Manager, Testing & Quality Assurance you are responsible for quality relating to business systems. Responsibilities include management and coordination of all types of software testing including functional, non-functional and integration testing in support of both operational / production support and projects. The Manager is responsible for resource planning to ensure adequate coverage for both production support work and project work.
You are also responsible for providing leadership for automation and innovation making use of best practices and tools with the expectation of continuous improvement.
You will work in partnership with the other production support, business knowledge management, vendor relationship, security, finance, product, digital and architecture managers to ensure efficient and optimal workflow management.
You will also be responsible for working with strategic external partners and vendors to achieve testing solutions including for cloud and software-as-a-service delivery.
**Responsibilities**:
- Deploy and manage the appropriate framework to meet the testing mandate.
- Create, deploy, maintain, and adapts solid test processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive technical quality assurance efforts including functional, non-functional and integration testing.
- Liaise proactively with the business, production support, information technology and project teams.
- Lead detailed test analysis and test planning to ensure the use of industry best practices and tools.
- Oversee the development of automated, integrated test suites in support of the independent and synchronized systems environments.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to achieve better service levels.
- Coordinate intra/interdepartmental activities pertaining to releases in coordination with the vendor management, Agile and production support teams.
- Provide leadership for living documentation and processes that allow for long term, maintainable, continuous integration/deployment automation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business, computer science or engineering.
- Additional training in quality control and testing.
- Quality Assurance certifications such as: Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) or Certified Associate in Software Quality (CASQ) are an asset.
- Experience in a system / user acceptance testing function with formal testing practices.
- Advanced communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders to find solutions and agreement with changing timelines and priorities.
- Leadership skills and ability to motivate technical staff and maintain employee engagement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience using tools such as: HP Quality Centre and automated testing tools is an asset.
