Role Overview:
We are looking for someone who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment. The Financial Analyst, Project Controller will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, monitoring and reporting on Project Expenditures. The Senior Financial Analyst works directly with all areas of the IT department - Project Outcome Office, Engineering, Infrastructure, Dev Ops and Quality Assurance - to help define project’s Financial framework, report and maintain project’s Budget and Forecast and recommend actions to improve progress.
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate the development of Project Forecasts, Annual Budgets and Bank’s Plan for all projects
- Extract and analyze actual costs and work with Accounting department to ensure proper accounting treatment
- Manage the Capital Labour process. Analyze Capital Labour and report in the overall Expenditure including FTE, Consultants and Contractors metrics
- Prepare Monthly Financial report for Management review and ad hoc reports as required
- Analyze monthly IT spending and meet with Accounting and FP&A teams to interpret results and recommend appropriate course of action
- Develop improved internal tools to assist in tracking of project status
- Coordinate Project Reviews with Project Managers for all assigned projects and perform post-mortem analysis to confirm opportunities and risks
- Work with Loblaw enterprise colleagues to understand intercompany transactions that relate to IT Technology department
- Work with Vendors and Legal department to coordinate Statements of Work execution and migration to Fieldglass
- Assist on implementation of systems for payment automation and project management
- Proactively Build relationships and communicate effectively in order to positively influence peers and other stakeholders
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business, Science, Engineering
- Must have strong/advanced excel knowledge (PIVOT Tables, Macros) and accounting knowledge (forecast/accruals/actuals)
- Knowledge on SAP - mainly data extraction
- Intermediate understanding of project/IT lifecycle using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Must be able to work independently with little direction but also have a strong teamwork mindset.
- Must have strong communication skills and be able to build strong relationships within a cross-functional team.
- Ability to deal with several sources of information and merge it into reports that are intuitive and easy to follow
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Must have good organization, time management, multitasking and stress management skill.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and work in a cross-functional team (including senior management).
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet urgent deadlines.
- Nice to have systems: Jira, Fieldglass, Clarity or any other Project Systems
- Nice to have technical experience: PMP, CAPM, CSD
