We support as many as 23 local farms, butchers, breweries and other producers. We are looking for great people to help grow the brand through great quality work, commitment and passion. We always involve our staff in our creative process and we love to play Board Games too

This is a **FULL time or PART time position** with **good wages** depending on experience**. **This a unique establishment for people who enjoy great food and board games. We are a bistro, that offers our customers the opportunity to play and purchase our board games, while they enjoy our food.

We also run The Black Walnut Catering Co. and this part of the business is rapidly expanding so we are looking for great people who are committed to high quality foodservice and a high quality culture We are looking for COOKS who can help us grow our business

**Requirements**:

- Must have between 2-4 years restaurant experience
- Excellent attention to detail and knife skills
- Must be organized and have good hygiene
- Open availability, including swing and closing shifts, weekends and holidays
- Must have **Food Safe**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work the Kitchen Line to prepare hot and cold menu items
- Ensure quality of food and determine food size proportions
- Work with mínimal supervision
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, smoker, pizza oven etc.)
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health and safety regulations
- Neapolitan Pizza experience an asset
- Knowledge of breakfast cookery is an asset
- Catering Experience necessary

Job Duties:

- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
- Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

Work remotely off site for catering events.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

Must be Healthy and sign an agreement to only work if healthy as per WORKSAFE BC. We take precautions to keep all our staff and customers safe. Following PHO and WORKSAFE standards and regulations.

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
