**Job Summary**

Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) is responsible for providing risk oversight of RBC’s trading activities including (but not limited to) counterparty exposure measurement and monitoring, bespoke transaction adjudication and approval, portfolio risk analysis and reporting.

As Risk Manager in the Counterparty Credit Risk Exposure Monitoring team), you are responsible for providing effective risk oversight for counterparty credit risk related to RBC’s securities finance transaction (SFT) activities globally. This includes monitoring portfolios to identify noteworthy trends/areas of risk, contributing to CCR policies, assessing emerging risks and participation in reporting/analytical tool enhancements. This would include development and coding efforts required to mechanize reporting streams and monitoring and adjudication tools for new and existing product categories.

**What will you do?**
- Pro-actively investigate risks to provide clear and comprehensive analysis to all levels of the risk management organization highlighting potential areas of concern.
- Monitor, investigate and where appropriate, escalate credit and collateral limit excesses as per internal policies.
- Facilitate business growth through the review and assessment of new products or significant transactions ensuring the risks are in line with risk tolerance while recommending appropriate risk controls.
- Contribute to the development of SFT credit policies/limits in conjunction with the business and other risk teams ensuring policies/limits remain current, comprehensive and clearly understood by all business partners.
- Maintain close contact with the business, regional risk teams and other Group Risk Management units (GRM) regarding market conditions, risk positions, and new initiatives promoting collaboration and developing a strong independent view of current SFT risks to the firm.
- Drive the innovation of risk infrastructure, working closely with business, IT and Global Risk Analytics team to enhance the existing risk methodologies, model capabilities.
- Develop/code tools enabling the team to review and analyze portfolio risks a timely and accurate fashion. These tools will enable the team to readily identify, investigate and summarize notable risk trends that are to inevitably escalated (as appropriate) to Sr Management.

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**
- MBA, MA, MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance, economics or a quantitative discipline is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience at a financial institution in a quantitative Risk Control function such as market, credit or liquidity risk, with an understanding of capital markets trading products and related credit risk concepts.
- Good command and hands on experience with Excel, Python, VBA programming, SQL or equivalent programming languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

**Nice-to-have**
- Knowledge of one or more elements of SFT products and markets including: Pricing and risk measurement methodologies, Market structure/dynamics, types of participants, drivers of activity and BASEL III & IV rules/requirements
- Familiarity with CIRO margin rules
- FRM, PRMIA, or CFA
