Purpose of Role:
This role sits within Fidelity’s Corporate Sustainability team with a dotted line to our Risk Management team. To meet client expectations and prepare for future regulatory requirements, Fidelity Canada is committed to developing a robust corporate sustainability risk management framework as part of our overall corporate sustainability strategy. This role will be a key driver of the design and implementation of the corporate framework, requiring an understanding of the current frameworks, data sources and processes, teams involved, considering best practices and designing appropriate changes to data collection, process or requirements.
This role will enable foundational, best practice work to assist Fidelity Canada in developing a robust corporate sustainability risk management framework as part of our overall corporate sustainability strategy. It is required to meet external stakeholder expectations and emerging regulatory requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Oversee the program to develop and implement the corporate sustainability risk framework, including any related policies, procedures and templates.
- Develop a Fidelity Canada-wide target state operating model for managing corporate sustainability risk, including leading the necessary business case and communication needed for key senior stakeholders
- Working with 1st line business risk owners and 2nd line risk team to define and enhance the sustainability risk frameworks.
- Define any new requirements for related risk policies.
- Obtain relevant governance related approvals for changes.
- Develop and roll out training to business on sustainability risk considerations that impact business processes.
- Lead the development of the corporate sustainability risk appetite, risk culture and risk reporting processes.
- Support Fidelity Canada-wide climate risk identification, assessment and provide guidance on management, including the development of a climate-specific risk appetite and metrics.
- Play critical role in Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure work across the business.
- Support the integration of sustainability risk into the wider ERM framework.
- Provide expert support and guidance to all stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with all key internal stakeholders.
The Expertise You Bring:
- Strong organizational, analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to meet deadlines together with a high degree of personal initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including superior report writing and PowerPoint skills
- Proven strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent at providing innovative ideas and comfortable working under pressure
- Dedicated to maintaining high quality standards and client satisfaction
- Collaborative approach with a hands-on mentality
- 5 years of experience in the financial services industry with risk management expertise
- At least 2 years of experience in ESG/Sustainability Risk Management
- CPA or CFA or Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR_®_) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals certification is an asset
- University degree or equivalent work experience
