To process accounts receivable and accounts payable related transactions in both Canadian and US dollars for the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group, University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research, Atlas Institute for Veterans and Families, and the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health in a timely and accurate manner. This position will support both the accounts receivable and accounts payable function on the basis of work volume.

**Duties**:
**Accounts Receivable**:

- Process invoices for all companies and divisions
- Generate invoices using a computerized accounting system
- Process and submit OHIP billing to MOHLTC
- Enter cash receipts into a computerized accounting system
- Collections

**Accounts Payable**:

- Process documents for payment to suppliers and employees in Canadian & US dollars
- Enter invoices into computerized accounting system
- Prepare computer generate cheques and electronic funds transfer

**General**:

- Month end transactions
- Account reconciliation
- File various documents handled in Accounts Receivable/Payable
- Open and distribute department mail plus other hospital mails not address to a specific individual
- Assist with annual audits.
- Assist with grant reporting
- Perform Cashier function for Royal Ottawa Place
- Back up for ROMHC Cashier
- Bi-weekly entry of time cards into computerized payroll system
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/clients safety practices, policies and procedures of the ROHCG.
- Ensures a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination Free Workplace Policy.

**Qualifications**:

- OSSD(or equivalent) completed plus 2 year of community college diploma with an accounting major or equivalent education and experience.
- 2 years accounting experience in a computerized general accounting environment
- Good office administration and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other industry software packages
- Typing speed 35 net words per minute minimum
- Flexible with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.

**Salary Range**:

- $33.08 to $36.29 per hour
